Privacy notice

Meet Nearby is a free, adults-only social website. This version has no paid memberships, advertisements or Google sign-in. It uses account and session cookies to keep you signed in and secure forms.

Information and purposes

We process your email, password hash, username, display name, birth date, profile preferences, city, profile description and uploaded photos to create your account and display the profile you choose to share. Do not place private contact details in public profile fields. Profile visibility can be adjusted in account settings.

Nearby discovery is optional. When you request location and permit it in your browser, the server rounds coordinates to two decimal places. Members receive approximate distances, not coordinate fields. Sharing expires after seven days and can be switched off immediately. A city or distance may still reveal an approximate area.

We store likes, blocks, text messages and voice messages to provide these features. Recording requires browser permission and a separate Send action. Recordings are limited to 60 seconds. Messages and recordings are not end-to-end encrypted; authorized server operators can access stored data for operation, security and handling reports. Voice downloads require a participating member session.

Complaint reports include your reply email, description, referenced content, status and response history. A hashed network identifier helps limit abusive submissions. Keep the complaint reference private. Check the result through the form; email delivery is not yet configured. Server and application logs can contain IP addresses, timestamps and request information for security and troubleshooting.

Storage and control

The server and local backups are hosted in Singapore on Alibaba Cloud. Cloudflare provides DNS for this hostname; it is currently DNS-only. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. Service providers may process information needed to operate the service, and information may be preserved or disclosed when required by applicable law.

You can edit your profile, change privacy settings, stop location sharing, block a member, and submit an access, correction or deletion request through the safety form. Account settings also provide account closure. Removal from the live service does not mean immediate erasure from all backups or legally preserved records. A final retention and legal-preservation schedule is still being established during testing; do not assume immediate complete deletion.

Only people aged 18 or over may register. Birth date and age declarations are checked, but identity or age documents are not automatically verified. Report suspected underage accounts through the form.
